The structure of a scene

It's good to design an antagonist carefully when writing a novel for publication.

I peek into a well worn copy of .......Story Engineering by Larry Brooks.

Larry discusses proven recipes for commercial Fiction. Here is where I remembered I already read these words and they were underlined. You don't put the whole story in the first act.

Learn where, when and how much to ad and where.

The antagonist can appear in the first quarter of the book, but do not explain everything if anything. It will destroy the odds of a good book.

I love this book but is full of facts that require study. When it's not coming smoothly, I think about the goal of my protagonist but in this scene my hero is not around. When it's not coming smoothly, I think about the goal of my protagonist... but in this scene my hero is not around.   http://amzn.to/1OuBw84

    Rules of Thumb

Rules. It is a nasty word to the new writer. Like Outline. Top selling writers say things and we try to soak them up..glome ...glom /**** Absorb..

For me I spent way to much effort fixated and dreaming this was the way to be great...at writing and golf... what you hate is the thing you need to love....  hating messes with the free flow of thoughts...it can slow down your progress and your enjoyment. I see seasoned writer's say I love writing outlines and planning my novel... haven't finished my first novel yet... I did  managed to publish the first six pages.

    Channeling JAMES PATTERSON

Dedicated to saving money and learning to write, I started seeking advice on line for free.

.... the chance to listen to a Master storyteller .... is great. It put so much in perspective.

The thing that was not clear from all my  study, was how to finish an outline? I didn't get it.

Even though it was in Steve Alcorn's works.

... outlining, its a must.... Patterson sold me on his twist....

There is so much more but a detailed draft is the milestone I have never achieved. And I am convinced its got to be the first stop on the road to a Universal Bestseller... not that I care about money or fame....I've lived fine this long with out  it.

I hope to get lots of mileage out of the course . It is motivating.

    Thanks James Patterson,

    Leon Davis
